Abstract

ABSTRACT
THE INVENTARIZATION OF EQUIPMENT FOR COOLING SYSTEM AS STUDY TO
OPTIMATION OF WASTE MANAGEMENT FROM DECOMMISSIONING OF THE KARTINI REACTOR.
The inventarization of cooling system TRIGA MARK II
(Kartini Reactor) was done with obyective on preparing of
management method of waste from its decommissioning results. The grouping of waste was done based on the
function and position of equipments that contact with the cooling water stream and it where in the reactor pool.
The equipment activated in the reactor core directly was clasified as radioactive waste. While the equiments that
is contact directly to the water cooler was clasified as contaminated matterials waste. The first decontamination
in situ before dismantling was determine base on the radioactivity of contaminat and the difficulty level of its
implementation beside of the secondary waste management. Result of the analysis show that aluminium pipe of
primery cooling system excisting in the reactor pool will classified as activated materials waste and it can be
treated by cementation method. Part equipments of secondary cooling system can be dismantled after light
decontamination process. To reduce the size of the aluminium pipe waste can be used of mechanical sawing or by
flame cutting method. The managemant of the fumes secondary waste must be priority action attention, because it
potentially to occur the contamination dispersion. Preparation of waste interim storage facility, dismatling
technical planing and worker safety system can be programed optimally.
