Aplikasi metalografi dan uji kekerasan untuk menentukan kualitas cangkul produksi industri kecil di Jawa Barat

This paper provides the results of metallograpic examination and hardness test in determining the quality of hoe produced by small scale industries in West Java. A comparative study was also carried out by examining several samples obtained from black smith's products in West Java as well as from UPT-LUK and from foreign country such: Germany, UK and China. The results reveal that quality of the hoe fabricated by West Java black smith's in still far below the hoe standard of foreign country. However, by providing an integrated education and training to the craftsworker under the supervision of UPT-LUK, the quality of the black smith's products can be improved to the level of the those of foreign standard.
