Pemanfaatan potensi batu kapur di Kawasan Timur Indonesia

Limestone exists in almost all islands in Indonesia, particularly in Indonesian Eastern Region. It is used mainly in three fields, such as constructions, industries and agricultures fields. In construction field, limestone is used for building foundation, mixture of cement and road foundation, etc. In industrial field, limestone is used for producing quicklime, calcium carbonat, sodium carbonat, etc. In agricultural fields, limestone is used to increase pH of soil, also calcium is an important compound for plant growth.
The need of limestone is increase gradually parallel with the growth of cement plants, and the growth of agricultural land.
