Abstract

Indonesia is the largest natural rubber producer in the world with an area of agricultural production 3, 189,000 + 1,344,000 tons/year. The potential need to be developed for the manufacture of rubbor products which have high added value and have the characters as import substitution products. All this is happening is to export more natural rubber with a very low value compared with intermadiate products. Utilization of national natural rubber currently only reached + 14%.
Floating pipe is one of the techniques of rubber products with high added value.
In 2010, Pertamina estimates the total 151 sites/base is 4.530 pcs, with the price per stem Rp. 400.000.000, the total cost required to perform the floating pipe imports more than Rp. 1812 trilion. One of the main pipe material is a sponge rubber float that serves as a medium buoyancy (specitic gravity of 0.05 to 0.2 g/ml). In this paper discussed how latex purification by centrifugation system with this method can be obtained sponge materials with synthetic materials specifications as the existing market.
