Abstract
his paper summarizes the main results of experimental tests conducted at the Indonesian Hydrodynamic Laboratory (THL). The emphasis of this paper is to describe the mooring line tension analysis of Floating Production Unit.
The mooring kine system is an important aspect to consider keeping its position and withstanding the floating body from environmental loading in its operational and survival condition.
A series of numerical calculation and model testing was conducted to measure the mooring tensions on the floating unit due to current, wind and waves loads.
The mooring line system was spreader on 4 (four) clusters located on each of barge end-corner.
Each mooring cluster consist of 3 (three) chain lines. The tests were carried-out on different wave heading and sea states such as 1 (one), 10 (ten) and 100 (hundred) years storm return sea state.
The test results are presented on plots and tables (statistical analysis) and compared with numerical results. The results refer to international code standard such as API RPSK.
