Abstract
Ship resistance can be reduced by injecting air to the submerge surface of the ship hull. Covering parts of the hull surface with air layer results the reduction of frictional drag as a major part of ship's resistance. Therefore, its recuction is a big chalienge to ship hydrodynamic researchers. This paper describes the experimental work of ship's resistance by supplying air pressures beneath the bottom ship surface.
The result shows that significant drag reduction is achieved and the reduction depends the ship's speed and given air pressures.
