Abstract

366 BPPT staffs participated in the seven-year Overseas Fellowship Program (OFP), concluded in 1992, and contributed 39.5 & additional BPPT manpower strength holding academic and functions of BPPT, b) four-phase technological transfer program and c) nine S & T "vehicle" for industry.
These BPPT's OFP returnees perform well for thenselves, as. 24 out of 27 PhD returnees holding structural positions, the S-2 returnees climbed up into higher functional positions and better monetary compensations for most of the returnees. BPPT also received positive impacts from these returnees as indicated, for example, by a 25 % annual DIP budget increase since 1989.
More guidances for the S-1 returnees, better re-orientation program for the returnees and more involvement of BPPT units/directorates during fellowship processes are some of the issues raised for better future overseas fellowship program.
